South Africa 2010: (3.2 million )
This was the first time that the Men’s senior World cup will be hosted in Africa and it is still regarded as one of the most colourful in the history of the World Cup. A total of 3.2 million supporters came to watch the tournament in the space of 64 games. The African soil was favourable for the Spanish national team as they emerged champions of the competition for the first time in their history. see
Germany 2006: ( 3.4 million)
The home of the 2014 World Cup winners are also among the nations that have the highest attendance of supporters that came to watch the games at the World Cup venue. Germany also holds the third highest of spectators that came to watch the games. The Italians were eventual winners of this edition beating France on penalties in the finals.
Brazil 2014: ( 3.4 million)
The home of the Samba boys has the same number of spectators that came to watch the World Cup as that of Germany in 2006. This World Cup year is one that the Brazilians will always want to forget in a hurry as they were thrashed 7-1 in the semi-finals by the eventual champions, Germany.
USA 1994: (3.6 million)
The USA 94 holds the highest number of attendance in the history of the World Cup. Americans will hope they can break that record again when they take major host in the World Cup in 2026. Brazil won that year’s competition beating Italy 5-4 in penalties
